L’Orangerie at Four Seasons Hotel George V – Light as the Language of Nature

For the transformation of L’Orangerie, the two-Michelin-star restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, our studio was invited to imagine a lighting design in perfect harmony with the new aesthetic envisioned by Pierre-Yves Rochon’s interior architecture firm.
Our aim was to translate the dialogue between nature and haute gastronomie through a living, poetic, and sensitive light.

Beneath the intimate glass roof overlooking the hotel’s Court , light becomes the invisible thread connecting architecture, art, and cuisine. We designed a delicate scenography that plays with tone and intensity, following the rhythm of the day and the changing seasons. Integrated, adjustable sources gently brush the surfaces — stone, wood, fabrics, porcelain — shaping a soft, serene, almost weightless atmosphere.

At the heart of the project, the monumental vegetal sculpture imagined by PYR and crafted by Art et Floritude reveals the soul of the space. We developed a lighting system integrated within the floral structure, highlighting the finesse of each leaf and the translucency of each petal.
Light flows through the porcelain veins like luminous sap, capturing daylight, then glowing at night with a golden warmth that transforms the room into an immersive canopy. The decorative pieces, wall lights, votives, and bespoke pendants — extend this narrative: an intimate, enveloping light accompanying the delicate cuisine of Chef Alan Taudon.

Born from the collaboration between Pierre-Yves Rochon, Art et Floritude, and our team, this project unites artisanal savoir-faire, technological innovation, and poetic sensitivity — a luminous creation where nature becomes light, and light, living matter.
