La Mamounia

The renovation of La Mamounia’s main public areas, led by Jouin Manku Studio with Voyons Voir as lighting designer, redefines the hotel’s legendary atmosphere through a subtle balance between heritage and contemporary vision.

Voyons Voir designed three monumental chandeliers and a series of bespoke lighting pieces — wall, floor and table lamps, pendants, and integrated fixtures — each tailored to the character of its space. In the Tea Room, a sculptural chandelier made of 650 glass pieces illuminated by custom LED modules creates shimmering reflections across the fountain and the historic Moroccan ceiling.

In the Churchill Bar, lighting is seamlessly integrated into walls, bar structures, and wood ceilings, complemented by custom green table lamps. The Italian restaurant features a double-layered glass chandelier above the open kitchen and adjustable white sconces that shift from a warm to a soft nighttime glow, enhancing the rhythm of each meal.

The Asian restaurant combines contemporary pendants and adjustable floor lamps to create a refined balance of accent and ambient light within its dark wood architecture. Outdoors, three large lanterns encase lounge areas around the pool, while the wine bar’s handcrafted braided chandelier floods the cellar with a natural, diffused light. The pool pavilion is crowned by a spectacular nine-meter-wide chandelier, encircled by a textile and metal ring, softly illuminating the space through concealed projectors.
